Painting of your room/door is not allowed. If a room/door is damaged by painting, offensive
graffiti or other decorations, residence hall staff members may repaint the door at any time
throughout the year. If repainting or other repair is necessary, the charges will be billed
immediately to the resident(s) of the room.
Parking
Students are issued stickers and prox cards to park in the residence hall parking lot located at
Mayflower Hall. If you cancel or transfer your housing contract during the academic year, you must
return your parking sticker and your parking lot gate key to avoid continued charges for parking.
Mayflower residents who cancel or transfer must remove the sticker carefully so that the ID
numbers are still intact, and return it and the parking lot gate key to the Parking Office in the IMU
Ramp. At the end of the year, Mayflower residents should return their parking prox card to the
Mayflower 24-hour desk. Most residence hall students park in the Hawkeye Storage Lot - for
information contact Parking and Transportation.
Payment of UI Bill
UI Bills can paid through ISIS or at the UICCU in the IMU.
Pets
For reasons of health, hygiene, and maintenance, pets are not permitted in the residence
halls, with the exception of fish. This includes pets that are in the residence hall on a
"visiting" or "temporary" basis. Pets found in the residence halls are subject to immediate
removal and transfer to Iowa City Animal Control authorities. Pet owners will be responsible
for Animal Control's fees as well as for any custodial/maintenance fees resulting from damage by
the pet(s). All occupants of the room where the pet is found are subject to disciplinary action. Fish
are allowed in tanks no larger than 20 gallons.
