Vandalism to residence halls costs everyone in the system through increased rates and loss of facilities.
Residents committing acts of vandalism will be dealt with through the University of Iowa
residence halls discipline system (see page 29 and page 41) and will be charged full replacement
costs for any damages. In the event that a guest of a resident commits an act of vandalism, the
resident will be held responsible.
If vandalism occurs on a locked public area and no one claims responsibility, the cost will be divided among the entire floor/hall.
Vending Machines
Vending machines providing soft drinks, water, juice, a wide variety of snacks, and condoms
are located in every building. Information regarding refunds and repairs is posted on every vending
machine. Some machines are equipped to accept purchases using your ID card.
